Organize your grocery list by aisle

A list in the order you remembered things is rarely a list in the order you walk the store. Grouping groceries by section puts nearby items together and makes it easier to see what is left before leaving an area.

Use store sections as your starting point

Group produce together, then pantry items, dairy, frozen food, and household supplies. Arrange those groups to match your usual route. The right order depends on the store entrance and layout, so a universal aisle number is less useful than a category you can place yourself.

For a sample list of bananas, pasta, yogurt, tomatoes, detergent, and frozen peas, group bananas with tomatoes under Produce. Pasta belongs with pantry groceries, yogurt with Dairy, and peas with Frozen. Detergent stays in Household. Review the items in one section before moving to the next.

Pick your exact store location

Two branches of the same supermarket can put the same product in different aisles. When using store-specific suggestions in Pepperjack, choose the location you are visiting. If you shop at another branch, check the selected store before following its aisle information.

Pepperjack Plus currently provides Smart List aisle suggestions and predicted prices at supported Walmart, H-E-B, and Meijer locations in the United States. Availability varies by location and item. A suggestion helps you navigate; it does not guarantee a product is in stock.

Use categories when aisle data is unavailable

A store does not need to support Smart List for Pepperjack to work as a grocery list. Sharing, shopping trips, recurring items, and category-based sorting work at other stores too. Reorder the standard sections to match your route when aisle numbers are unavailable.

If an aisle suggestion is wrong, use the item's correction controls. Stores can move products, and a general request such as coffee can refer to several products. More specific item details and the correct store location make the suggestion easier to interpret.

Check the remaining items before checkout

Tick groceries off as you put them in your cart, then review the items still unchecked. Decide whether each one is unavailable, needs a substitution, or belongs on a later trip. On a shared list, check for recent additions before heading to the register.
