New list owners need a Base or Pepperjack Plus plan. There is no permanent free plan for new accounts.
Base and Plus
Both plans include unlimited grocery lists, unlimited invited members, real-time sync, quantities, notes, item photos, adding items from a photo, recurring items, trip history, and widgets. Base costs $2.99/month or $29.99/year, with a 14-day trial for eligible subscribers. Prices and eligibility are shown at checkout.
Plus adds Smart List, Suggested Aisle, Predicted Pricing, and following family trips through Live Activities. See What's included in Pepperjack Plus.
Invited members
People invited to a list do not need a separate subscription while the owner has an active plan or grandfathered access. They inherit the owner's list features. Creating lists of their own requires their own plan unless they are grandfathered.
Grandfathered accounts
Accounts created before paid entry retain their existing access and two-list allowance. They can upgrade for more lists and Plus features. This is an existing-account benefit, not an offer for new accounts.
When a plan ends
Your lists are kept. If you have no other qualifying plan or grandfathered access, your own lists become read-only until you subscribe again. Shared-list access depends on the owner's access or your own qualifying plan. Grandfathered accounts keep editing their existing lists, with their original limit on creating new lists.
Cancel or change an active subscription through the provider you used to buy it. In the United States, new purchases offer Stripe checkout and a separate Pay with App Store option.
